Biscari Palace is a magnificent architecture of the eighteenth century windows with inlays, black fruit and haunting, caryatids, putti, frames and lions. In, which is accessed through a large portal via Biscari Museum, magnificent halls, polychrome marbles and frescoes. Biscari Palace is situated between Via and Via Dusmet Biscari Museum and, with its 160 meters in elevation, is the largest and most sumptuous private building in Catania. It was built at the behest of the family Paternò Castello Principles of Biscari from the end of the seventeenth century and for much of the next century, after the catastrophic earthquake of 11 January 1693. It 'not only the triumph of taste and style, but also the technical skills of the carvers and painters who had been trained on the building of Catania XVIII. The moment of maximum splendor of this noble residence was under Ignazio V, Prince of Biscari: great scholar, archaeologist and lover of the arts in general, which actively participated in the implementation of the project of construction of the building offering tips and solutions for ad-hoc. The interiors of the building are one of the finest examples of furniture and rare delicacy, all played on finding a precious environment, which is dominated by shades of gold and green. The most beautiful place of the building is the large "ballroom", decorated in rococo style by Sebastiano Lo Monaco, with Neapolitan landscapes, stucco and frescoes depicting the glory of Biscari. Finally, particular importance is the Museum of the Prince of Biscari who collected Greek and Roman statues, coins, weapons and capitals, many of these pieces are now on display at the museum Castello Ursino. The descendants Biscari that currently inhabit the palace open to the salons of the same cultural and social events.
