The Kolymbetra garden

Valle dei Templi

Last but no less fascinating, the Kolymbetra Garden is a green oasis within the valley. Created in the 6th century B.C. as a water reservoir for ancient Akragas, over time it became a splendid garden preserving ancient and endangered plant species. Since 2001, thanks to FAI, it has been restored and opened to the public.
It is divided into five distinct areas: Citrus groves, olive and almond orchards, Mediterranean scrub, Riparian vegetation (near the river), Rocky vegetation
A true genetic heritage of plant origin.
