Vittorio Emanuele Theater
Messina
Built in 1852 on the wishes of Ferdinand II of Bourbon. The Syracusan stone exterior has a three-arched portico on which Doric columns rest, and on top a marble sculpture by Messina Saro Zagari depicting the time that discovers the truth and Messina. The interior has been completely rebuilt, with the vault depicting the legend of Cola Pesce, work of the artist Renato Guttuso.
