Ragusa Ibla, Modica and Marzamemi

Baroque elegance, culture and seaside charm in one day
Daily departures by private car from hotels in the Taormina, Giardini Naxos and Letojanni area.

Hotel pick-up and departure to Ragusa Ibla, the baroque jewel of southern Sicily and UNESCO World Heritage Site. This enchanting old town was rebuilt after the devastating 1693 earthquake. Guided visit to the city’s most important landmarks: the Church of Santa Maria delle Scale, the Baroque Church of Purgatory, the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, the elegant Donnafugata Palace (home to works by Ribera and Messina), the Church of Santa Maria dell’Itria with its colorful tiled dome, and the magnificent Cathedral of San Giorgio.
Free time for lunch (not included).
In the afternoon, continue to Modica, hometown of Nobel Prize-winning poet Salvatore Quasimodo. Enjoy free time to explore the city’s churches and squares: the Church of San Giorgio, Santa Maria in Betlem, and Santa Maria del Gesù. Don’t miss a visit to a local chocolate shop to taste the unique Modica-style chocolate.
