Discovering the wines of Mount Etna means immersing yourself in one of the most fascinating terroirs in Europe. Few people know that Sicily is currently Italy’s leading wine-producing region in terms of vineyard area, with approximately 150,000 hectares under vine. Around 77% is dedicated to white grape varieties, and the remaining 23% to reds. Most vineyards are located in hilly areas (65%), followed by plains (30%) and mountainous zones (5%).
